Carrollton Farmers Branch Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month Creekview High School Mustangs Students perform to honor Hispanic Heritage month in Standridge Stadium. Our love and appreciation for our traditions and holidays from a country our family once called home. It doesn’t erase or replace our respect and love for America. Many Mexican families are in fact indigenous to Texas. Many of us didn’t cross a border to live here, the border of Texas simply crossed us.

Indigenous peoples lived in the area now known as Texas long before Spanish explorers arrived in this area. Texas was ruled by Spain as part of its New Spain territory from the year 1520, this ended when our great state of Texas won independence from Mexico in 1836. Today the great state of Texas is home to 11.4 million Latinos. Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD recognizes the importance of celebrating the rich cultures that our district is made of. Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD recognizes the importance of celebrating the rich cultures that our district is made of. In this video you will see the genuine love and appreciation our students, staff, administrators and community have for our diverse cultures. Half way through this performance it began to ran. And not even rain could dampen the spirits of those who participated in this event. Once again, Thank you CFBISD for your part in celebrating our community. and thank you Carrollton Police for showing your positive support within our community. It was wonderful seeing our chief of police participating.
